As part of our growth, we’re looking for a Tooling Engineer to join our DDS&IVD Business Unit - a skilled, expanding group of medical device experts.
You’ll work in a fast-paced, international, and cross-functional environment where innovation and entrepreneurial thinking are essential. Your role will be key in transforming ideas into high-performing, real-world solutions.
You will have the opportunity to lead all activities related to DFM and MFA for one (or more) of the current device portfolios, being the technical point of contact for tooling aspects of internal ( Project Engineering Team, QA/RA, Manufacturing Site, Product Management, Business Development) and external stakeholders ( Contract Development Organizations, suppliers).
Responsibilities
• Support mechanical engineer team through iterative DFM (design for manufacturing) analysis
• Support mechanical engineer team through iterative MFA (mold flow analysis)
• Supporting material selection during development activities
• Define a tooling strategy optimized for the required product engineering phase
• Create tool and molding requirements to support engineering project Phases: low cavitation, high tooling complexity “experience with 2k/3k tooling will be a plus”
• Identify, together with supply chain, the right tooling supplier to meet project needs
• Manage the tooling suppliers during the entire process from tool design up to tool transfer or samples release
• Supplier on site support if needed

Qualifications
Qualifications
• +5 years of experience in mold design of high precision and cosmetic molds
• Excellent knowledge of thermoplastic polymers and elastomer
• Excellent with DFM analysis, (parting line definitions, draft angle evaluation. . )
• Excellent with injection molding FEA tools ( Mold Flow…), leading analysis, results interpretation and reporting
• Deep understanding in ISO-GPS or equivalent geometrical specification methods
• Strong understanding of dimensional tolerance limits applicable to plastic part manufacturing processes
• Experience with Root Cause Investigation Analysis (RCA) used to identify causes of problems, preventing them from recurring
• Master CREO/ Solidworks or equivalent CAD system
• Experience with New Product Introduction processes
• Fluent in English language, both oral and written
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior experience in medical device and drug delivery devices
• +2 years of experience with injection molding process
• Knowledge of regulatory and standard guidelines such as: ISO 13485
• Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ processes
• Understanding of statistical process control
• Familiarity with German language.
