The Digital Health and Wellbeing (dHWB) Centre focuses on supporting an equitable and sustainable public healthcare system based on the pervasive use of digital technologies and AI by both empowered citizens and healthcare professionals, in the context of 4P medicine. The activities of the dHWB Centre focus on promoting and supporting a value chain that combines excellent scientific research (open and targeted) and innovation (social and technological) to have a significant impact on society (citizens and healthcare system) and market.
The research and innovation activity of the FBK Digital Health and Wellbeing Center focuses on the design and implementation of technological platforms based on digital and artificial intelligence technologies to support citizens in the management of their health and the healthcare system in its provision of innovative remote care services.
The Intelligent Digital Agents Research Unit (IDA) of the Digital Health and Wellbeing Center at FBK develops cutting-edge solutions in the digital health area.
The purpose of FBK's Tenure Track program is to offer high level professionals the opportunity of pursuing a structured career path to become a tenured technologist contributing to the long-term strategy of the organization.

Job Description
The Digital Health and Wellbeing Center is seeking a Technologist with proven experience in designing and validating Large Language Model based conversational agents within Digital Medicine interventions.
The ideal candidate should possess, besides the knowledge of proper programming languages supporting the interaction with Large Language Models, a comprehensive understanding of various technical aspects of digital health with a focus on the adoption of appropriate linguistic patterns to interact with end users.
The candidate should also demonstrate a high-level knowledge of essential elements required to conduct multidisciplinary projects across the Linguistic, Computer Science, and Digital Health domains. The focus of such projects concerns supporting the design and delivery of psychology and psychotherapy techniques based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods based on Large Language Models. The position requires knowledge on the design, development and experimentation of digital health solutions based on the integration of open Large Language Models including the fundamentals on user-centered design, requirements identification, digital therapies implementation and trials design.
The candidate will work with different stakeholders at local, national, or international levels to define digital interventions based on cognitive behavioral techniques within the Digital Health and Wellbeing Center, particularly the Intelligent Digital Health Research Unit.
The ideal candidate should have: Master degree in one of the following domains: Linguistics; Semiotics; Theory of Communication Solid experience in designing prompting scripts to interact with Large Language Models Solid experience in installing and configuring open Large Language Models on multi-GPU servers Knowledge of psychological principles and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Experience of design of digital therapies through the adoption of Large Language Models Excellent knowledge of both R and Python programming languages Excellent knowledge of English Language Good interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills and team spirit
Additional Valuable Experience: PhD degree in one of the following domains: Linguistics; Semiotics; Theory of Communication Experience in publication of scientific papers in the field of digital health Excellent problem-solving skills and result orientation Knowledge about the design of clinical trials Experience and/or training in Acceptance and Commitment Theory (ACT) Practicality and creativity Knowledge of the main aspects required for user privacy management in projects involving the collection of sensitive data.
Employment
Type of contract: Tenure Track position leading to an FBK 3nd Level Technologist (T3) permanent contract.
Duration: The duration of the Tenure Track contract will be determined by the Committee based on the assigned KP Is (at least one year, which may be reduced in accordance with the Committee assessment on the candidate's abilities and skills). If the final assessment of the Tenure Track experience is positive, the selected candidate for the tenure track position will be offered a permanent T3 contract.
Working hours: full time.
Gross annual salary: 44. 000 € (plus objectives achievement bonus).
Start date: September 2025
