Human Technopole (HT) is a new interdisciplinary life science research institute, created and supported by the Italian government, with the aim of developing innovative strategies to improve human health. HT has the mission of conducting cutting-edge research but also to translate innovation into methods and tools available to the entire National scientific community. To this end, HT is opening National Facilities that will provide state-of-the-art research infrastructure for Structural Biology, Light Imaging, Genomics, Genome Engineering, and Data Handling and Analysis.
Overview - National Facility for Light Imaging
The National Facility for Light Imaging supports both internal and external users. The facility has four, highly interconnected infrastructural units (IU): Imaging, Tissue Processing, Flow Cytometry and Ion Imaging. Automated Imaging and Tech- Development will be soon part of the facility.
In particular the Tissue Processing focuses on providing cutting-edge technologies, services, and trainings to advance Spatial Biology and Digital Pathology technologies in close collaboration with other National Facilities for the Italian Scientific Community and the HT research groups.
Within this framework, we are looking for a researchtechnician , who will report directly to the manager of the Tissue Processing .
Key tasks and responsibilities
• Processing, sectioning and staining of Fresh, Frozen and FFPE samples from the fixation to the imaging.
• Tracking the samples through every process with the help of a Laboratory Information Management System.
• Support and train internal and external users to Unit’s equipment usage.
• Participate in key aspects of general Unit management and organization (e. g. , managing inventories of samples and reagents, managing equipment and performing quality controls).
• Manage data collection and delivery, provide support for proper data evaluation.
• Support in the development and implementation of SO Ps and/or experimental pipelines, implementing new protocols and tools in integration with other facilities.
• Report regularly with colleagues and line manager on the flow and timeline of projects.
• Promote networks with other national and international Facilities and Units.
Mandatory requirements:
• Bachelor' s degree in a relevant field (i. e. Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Biotechnology).
• +3 years of technical and working knowledge in histology technologies with FFPE and Frozen sample, including experience in immunostainings.
• Fluency in English – HT is an international research institute.
Preferred requirements
• Experience with a wide variety of tissue types (from Human biopsies to organoids) and techniques (from DNA-ISH to multiplexing Immunofluorescence).
• Experience with sample preparation for Spatial Biology workflows.
• Experience with high throughput whole slide imaging technologies.
• Experience with Laser Capture Microdissection technologies.
• Experience with 3D Clearing and imaging techniques.
• Experience with Expansion Microscopy techniques.

• Ability and interest to learn or develop new methodologies.

Contract offered : CCNL Chimico Farmaceutico, Fixed-term -3 years- employee level.
Salary indication: up to 35. 263 (RAL) depending on the seniority.
