Job Description
CHEP's Service Centers are conveniently located warehouses situated close to our customers’ facilities where our pallets are inspected, restored and maintained to industry standard. Our c ustomers can use these centers to collect and return their CHEP products; reduce vehicle miles; cut down on wasted time and minimise impact on the environment.
As Plant Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for the management and control of all the subcontracted Service Centres in your area of influence: Italy, Center and Northern Italy.
To ensure the Quality and Service Level agreements
To audit that the CHEP Procedures and standards are followed in all the SC, regarding Safety, Quality, Production Plan compliance and Costs .
To work closely with the other departments in the company and the subcontracted staff to continuously improve the Operations in the SC
To ensure that the Operations objectives are supported in productivity improvement, plant and facilities are maintained in line with the best operations practises.
Key responsibilities:
Planning and controlling Pallet production to achieve set standards and targets
Managing plant Kpi costs and production ensuring highest physical throughput.
Ensuring the plant/s is/are fully manned with trained competent staff on Standard Work and Safety procedures.
Implement and coordinate preventative maintenance programs in respect of plant and property.
Ensuring Safety procedures are adequately maintained according to Government and Company standards.
Maintaining accurate reporting of production and stock, participating in regular stock counts/audits
Maintaining of high quality standards and procedures to meet maximum customer satisfaction
Qualifications and experience required:
A minimum of 3 years production / logistical experience and at least 3 years’ experience at a supervisory/managerial level controlling and motivating staff.
Job related functional and technical skills
Experience working in Continuous Improvement – formal training will be highly evaluated (green belt, black belt, lean, six sigma…)
Sound business and commercial acumen with a proven track record in cost containment and cost reduction methods
Knowledge of Industrial Relations, OSHACT and Safety legislation and procedures is essential.
Computer efficiency (SAP and Office package)
Action oriented
Transparency and ethic
Assertiveness with good communication skills
People management and Interpersonal Relations skills
Languages:
English and Italian. Any other languages such Spanish will be highly evaluated.
