Considered as the beloved capital of the Orient Express legend, Rome will be home to the first Orient Express hotel, Minerva, in 2024. Orient Express, in partnership with the Italian luxury hotel group Arsenale S. p. A, has entrusted the interior architecture and artistic direction of the hotel Hugo Toro. The former Palazzo Fonseca is a sumptuous 17th-century palace with a huge, majestic façade. A place of memory still adorned with its Roman columns, sculptures by Rinaldi Rinaldo, a disciple of Casanova, and the fascinating goddess Minerva. At the end of 2024, a new décor and interior inspired by the Roman domus and the riches of the “ Eternal City” will be revealed with a new touch of contemporary elegance. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Restaurant Manager to oversee the dining operations within our prestigious luxury hotel in Rome. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, a passion for delivering unparalleled guest experiences, and a keen eye for detail. As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our restaurant, maintaining high standards of service, and driving profitability while upholding the hotel’s reputation for excellence.
Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management:
Provide strong leadership to the restaurant staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, excellence, and guest satisfaction.
Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor restaurant personnel, ensuring that each team member delivers exceptional service.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, including reservations, seating, service standards, and cleanliness.
Monitor food and beverage quality, ensuring consistency and adherence to established standards.
Implement effective cost-control measures to optimize profitability without compromising quality or service.
Guest Experience:
Ensure that every guest receives personalized attention and enjoys a memorable dining experience.
Address guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to exceed expectations at every opportunity.
Maintain a welcoming atmosphere and ensure that the restaurant ambiance reflects the luxury and sophistication of the hotel.
Develop and manage annual budgets, revenue projections, and cost-control initiatives for the restaurant.
Analyze financial performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance profitability.
Collaborate with the hotel’s management team to develop pricing strategies, promotional campaigns, and revenue-enhancing initiatives.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, as well as hotel policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and expenses, and prepare reports as required.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in restaurant management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager in a luxury hotel or fine dining establishment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional guest service.
Sound knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, wine selection, and culinary trends.
Proficiency in restaurant management software, point-of-sale systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
Certification in food safety and sanitation (e. g. , Serv Safe) is desirable.
Fluent in English and Italian, additional languages are desirable.
