Purchasing Buyer - Hydrodesulfurization

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Buyer to support Front- End Engineering Design (FEED) and Basic Engineering Design activities for Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) projects. As part of the owner engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement process for technically complex materials and equipment, working closely with engineering, materials management, and vendor interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:



•
Manage the procurement cycle from purchase requisition to purchase order issuance.



•
Prepare and issue RF Qs; coordinate with vendors to clarify technical and commercial aspects.



•
Support bid evaluations in collaboration with engineering and materials teams.



•
Negotiate terms and ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing aligned with project requirements.



•
Monitor supplier performance, delivery status, and expedite as needed.



•
Maintain procurement documentation for compliance, traceability, and audits.



Qualifications




•
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.



•
Minimum 8 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, ideally in oil &gas, refining, or chemical plant projects.



•
Strong knowledge of procurement practices, material specifications, and industrial project workflows.



•
Proficiency in ERP systems (e. g. , SAP, Oracle) and procurement documentation.



•
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.



•
Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of Italian or French is considered a plus.
