Flatpay is on a mission to simplify and power the way small businesses operate. As we expand our Point-of- Sale (POS) offering into Italy, we’re looking for a Product Specialist to serve as our local product expert, feedback champion, and key connector between our Product team and the Italian market.
You’ll be part of a growing, international product organization but rooted in your local market — working alongside Sales, Ops, Tech Ops, and Product Managers to help ensure our products are loved, adopted, and constantly improved.
This is a high-impact, hands-on role where you’ll gain early exposure to every aspect of how our products come to life. From your first week, you’ll engage directly with merchants, set up real POS systems, troubleshoot devices, listen in on support calls, and gather market feedback first-hand. You’ll be right where the action is — not only observing the customer journey but shaping it through your insights and execution.

What you'll do
In Your First 30 Days
• Join onboarding in Denmark, meet key Flatpay stakeholders, and immerse yourself in our company culture.
• Get hands-on with our products (POS, Pay) and learn our internal tools and systems.
• Playtest Flatpay’s POS as a new user and document your feedback — your first impression is a valuable window into our customer experience.
• Begin building your local network of contacts in Italy ( Sales, Ops, Support, etc. ).
In Your First 60 Days
• Set up demo environments in your local market.
• Conduct initial merchant interviews and shadow sales personnel through ride-alongs to understand the customer journey and onboarding process.
• Launch your own internal feedback loops with the Sales and Ops teams in Italy.
• Begin independently contributing product feedback based on real customer needs.
• Start preparing and hosting the bi-weekly product update session for your market.
Ongoing Responsibilities
• Represent the voice of your market — document and deliver insights from merchants to the Product and Engineering teams.
• Help shape and test new features during development, rollout, and post-launch.
• Collaborate with Sales and Ops to ensure internal product knowledge is accurate and actionable.
• Contribute to internal product training and enablement material.
• Continuously identify inefficiencies or friction in how the product is sold, used, and supported — and propose solutions.
Who you are
• You’re fluent in Italian and English and comfortable working across cultural and organizational boundaries.
• You’re curious, empathetic, and eager to learn — not afraid to ask questions or dig into problems.
• You’re energized by a role that blends strategy, communication, customer contact, and process building.
• You’re digitally savvy and interested in how technology creates value for small businesses.
• You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, whether it’s assembling a demo setup, debugging a local issue, or running a training session.
Requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — able to build trust quickly and lead structured interviews.
• Comfortable learning new tools and digital products.
• Driven, self-organizing, and collaborative.
• Willing to travel several times a year for onboarding, workshops, and cross-market collaboration.
Nice to Have
• Experience in customer support, product research, or retail/hospitality environments.
• Technical interest or background in SaaS, fintech, or POS/payments.
