Group Audit (GA) is seeking a Principal Auditor to join the PB Italy audit team.
Whilst the majority of the audit work is based in Milan, the team is also responsible for coverage in certain other locations. Occasional travel may therefore be required. The candidate will also be involved in country specific topics like regulatory audits or cross-divisional audits, facing also the environment of a Bank supervised by a local regulator. The position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop relationships across the DB franchise and to communicate the results of their work to clients at all levels.
Key responsibilities
Group Audit is seeking an experienced audit professional with high level of self-motivation, who is able to communicate and cooperate with all levels of Management of the Bank. The candidate is required to have a good understanding of risks and controls within the universe of a global financial institution.
The candidate will be required to:
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls relating to operational and regulatory reporting risks involved in the relevant business areas in accordance with Group Audit Methodology and the established risk assessment framework.
• Be responsible for the delivery of audits (including the global audit plan and business monitoring process).
• Contribute to functional planning of the audit plan related to own area of responsibility;
• Implement continuous monitoring of the business. He or she will be required to successfully implement, and contribute to, risk based audits both locally and globally;
• Provide input to the risk assessments, audit plan and approaches
• Review and provides expert opinions on action plans provided by clients, helping them develop robust remediation plans.
• Review all reports prior to review by the Country Head and Chief Auditor.
• Approve closure of Significant and Important audit findings in line with GA methodology. Responsible for ensuring that testing conducted to assess design and operating effectiveness of controls at the time of issue closure validation is comprehensive and adequately documented.
• Partner with relevant Department Heads on a timely and effective basis regarding matters affecting their area of responsibility.
Skills and experience:
The following skills are required:
• The candidate must be a qualified auditor with experience in the Banking system on the retail division topics
• Significant Audit experience with a major retail/international bank or accountant firm is a pre-requisite; work experience in foreign locations will be considered a plus
• An innovative mindset with the ability to develop ideas, which can be implemented with positive impact
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills in Italian and English, and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within Group Audit and its client base
• Flexible, pro-active, self-sufficient and innovative with strong organizational skills to allow ownership and responsibility of agreed targets within budget constraints. The candidate will also enable a timely and efficient completion of audit projects, and will be a natural role model for his or her peer group
• Able to multi-task assignments, prioritize workload with limited supervision and be resilient under pressure when faced with tight deadlines.
• Strong relationship management, analytical, problem solving, communication, influencing, planning and presentation skills.
• Be willing to engage and embracing new technologies and audit testing techniques, such as automated testing.
