Commitment & contract: Post- Doc, 18 months contract

Location: Genova, Erzelli, Center for Human Technologies (CHT), Electronic Design Laboratory (EDL)/ Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS), Mechanical Work Shop Facility (MWS)

YOUR TEAM

You’d be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where biomedical, mechanical, and electrical engineers, neuroscientists, computational scientists, and robotics experts collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.

The research focuses on the implementation of control algorithms of multi-axis robots for haptic applications.

Within the team, your main responsibilities will be:


• The design and prototyping of electronic systems using commercial components


• The proactive cooperation in a multidisciplinary team involving mechanical and software engineers


• The writing of the documentation of the implemented electronics to enable trials on subjects

WHAT WOULD MAKE YOU SHINE


• A PhD Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunication, Microelectronics, or similar disciplines


• Documented experience on the design of motor control systems based on commercial components


• Good knowledge in multi-axes motor control and in motor control in general


• Good knowledge of communication buses for motor control


• Good knowledge of C and Python programming languages


• Good knowledge of embedded systems software


• Good command in spoken and written English


• Basic knowledge of hardware and electronic components

EXTRA AWESOME


• Basic knowledge of Ethernet, Ethercat, CAN and CAN Open


• Basic knowledge of systems control theory


• Good communication skills


• Good problem solving attitude


• High motivation to learn
