As a Manager the ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:
Relate credibly with IT [and Data] technical counterparts, both at the operational level (e. g. application/infrastructure/enterprise architects [and Data Scientists/ Engineers]) and at the senior level (e. g. Head of IT, CTO, CIO, Chief Transformation Officer [ And Chief Data Officer])
Support the firm in generating contents/methodologies related to IT transformation, in order to develop IP or commercial offerings
Support consulting team in understanding the client needs and in identifying optimal methodologies and project approaches
Building a European community of IT specialists within Strategy&, as well as the wider PWC network (building IP, advising colleagues, leveraging the network to bring its expertise to benefit our clients)
Work on clients across industries (with a focus on FS)
Support Team in delivering solid, backed up analyses
Ensure quality of analyses and recommendations
Structure and deliver specific, highly technical project “modules”, with the support of Associates/ Senior Associates from the team
Scope the project work into modules, assign ownership and manage interdependencies across modules
Other activities:
Support identification of target architectures/IT solutions/vendors
Definition of IT transformation plans/programs/roadmaps (e. g. cloud journey, migrations, evolution of current platforms, data center consolidation or transformation)
Definition of IT governance/operating models (e. g. organization, required capabilities, insourcing/outsourcing, key IT processes and ways of working)
Definition of business cases for IT transformation (e. g. support to team in identifying key drivers)
Reduction of Architectural debt (i. e. technological debt, legacy debt)
Legacy integration and definition of integration patterns
Support to IT demand management/prioritization/sourcing projects, including review of vendor proposals
Identification of regulatory impacts on current IT footprint
Support in IT due diligence / assessments
Setup of IT risk programs
Setup of cybersecurity programs
Support identification of target data & analytics architectures/ solutions/vendors
Definition of data strategy plans/programs/roadmaps (e. g. priority use cases, data sources, models, technologies, enabling programs and initiatives)
Identification of opportunities for data monetization and adoption of AI, Machine Learning, innovative technologies; definition of enabling requirements and initiatives to ensure impact on business
Definition of Data governance programs and Digital organization, with an emphasis on Data & Analytics (e. g. roles and responsibilities, required capabilities, key processes, policies, controls)
Definition of business cases for Data & Analytics transformation (e. g. support to team in identifying key drivers)
Definition of target data & analytics architecture (including Cloud)
Support to IT demand management/ prioritization/sourcing projects, including review of vendor proposals
Identification of regulatory impacts on current IT footprint
Support in IT due diligence / assessments
Setup of data security and cybersecurity programs
Candidate profile
Experience:
Graduation in Computer Science or Engineering, PhD/relevant post graduate degree a plus
Minimum years of working experience >5 years
Relevant experience working on topics related to IT strategy/transformation (see topics above), including IT projects with strategic impact
Solid experience in tech focused consulting firms/teams (e. g. as a plus Accenture, BCG Platinion, Mc Kinsey Technology, IBM)
Experience in top notch tech companies (e. g. Google, Microsoft) and/or IT department of large corporations (TMT, Banks/insurers, Energy) a relevant plus
Certification on key components of architectural stack (e. g. AWS or Azure Cloud) a relevant plus
Competences and mindset
Ability to manage a project : relate with senior client project management; setting workplan and pace of activities; provide intellectual leadership; manage team appropriately engage PwC Partners and Topic experts
Ability to act as topic expert: demonstrating strong topic expertise to client and to other PwC teams; experience on designing/delivering very modern solutions
Structured and analytical mindset: ability to break down an issue in clearly distinct components; logical rigour; “propensity for quantification”
Intellectual curiosity and critical attitude: willing to learn; analyze/think about issues in depth and challenge established view if needed; fantasy and ability to develop new concepts/frameworks
• Ability to develop) executive level communication: effective storylining; focus on key messages; language concision and precision; self-confidence/assuredness; effective slidewriting
• Ability to develop) strong relational skills: empathy and willingness to listen/ask questions; approachability; composure; sense of humour a plus
• Ability to develop) a strategic and impact-oriented mindset: big picture view of client issues (as opposed to technical/detailed view only); understanding of business-side implications of technical discussions; drive to generate impact for business
Team player, energy, drive, professionalism
Excellent command of business English/ technology English
Availability for business trips in Italy/abroad
FS competence and business sense, while maintaining ability to work also on other industries
