To join its office in Milan, Genoa, Rome, or Fano ( Italy) within the Energy Engineering Solutions Division.
Mission
RINA Consulting is currently seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to join our Geotechnics team based in Genoa, Milan, Rome, or Fano. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detailed-oriented and responsible for his/her technical duties, capable of working autonomously and under supervision, executing projects within the division, interfacing and coordinating with other peers. You will work on challenging offshore and onshore projects, providing consultancy and designing foundations. Working together as a global team, you will be expected to achieve extraordinary results in a demanding and challenging business environment that is constantly changing.
Main Activities
Main activities include:
Geotechnical characterization including interpretation of in-situ testing, definition and interpretation of lab test programs/results, definition of design parameters, integration with geophysical data
Onshore and offshore geotechnical assessments including seismic related issues, slope stability, soil dynamics, and foundation design
Offshore work on geotechnical vessels for surveys (between 4 to 6 weeks)
Requirements
Requirements for the role:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Master’s Degree in Engineering General or Geotechnical Engineering
Experience: 2-3 years of working experience in geotechnical fields is a plus
Skills:
Master’s Degree in Geotechnics with specialization in soil mechanics or lab testing
Availability to travel worldwide on short-mid-term assignments and ability to work offshore
Experience in the use of main geotechnics software packages ( Plaxis, Open Sees, GRL Weap, Deep Soil) or programming languages is considered a plus
Experience in offshore geotechnics is a plus
Ability to work well under supervision, personal initiative, and resourcefulness
Ability to work on several projects simultaneously, sometimes under pressure, and always within deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills ( English)
