The Internal Communications Manager is a key strategic partner in driving employee understanding, alignment, and engagement with the company’s values, priorities, and strategic initiatives. This individual will lead the planning, development, and execution of internal communications strategies, leveraging a variety of channels and tools to reach diverse employee audiences.
ROLE MISSION
As the global owner of the company’s intranet platform, this role ensures it remains an engaging, user-centric hub for internal communication, supporting collaboration and knowledge-sharing across teams and regions. Success in this role requires strong communication and project management skills, a deep understanding of business priorities, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling content.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Internal Comm Strategy:
• Strategic Communication Planning
Develop and execute internal communication strategies aligned with key company priorities, organizational goals, and cultural values
• Leadership Messaging
Partner with executive leadership to develop clear, consistent, and inspiring communications, including global CEO updates, town halls, and business transformation messages
• Collaboration Across Functions
Partner cross-functionally with HR, Marketing, IT, Legal, and Business Leaders to ensure alignment and integration of internal messaging with broader company initiatives
• Change Communication
Craft communication plans to support change initiatives, ensuring employees understand the “why,” “what,” and “how” behind business transformations
Intranet, Content Creation and Campaign Management:
• Global Intranet Ownership & Optimization
Drive continuous improvements to structure, content, and accessibility in alignment with employee needs and business priorities.
Partner with IT, HR, and regional stakeholders to ensure the intranet delivers timely, relevant, and localized information, enhances knowledge sharing, and fosters company-wide alignment. Champion the intranet as a strategic tool to support employee experience, reinforce company culture, and deliver services that help employees stay informed, connected, and empowered
• Content Oversight
Develop and oversee the creation of high-quality global communications, ensuring consistency of tone, messaging, and branding across regions and platforms (intranet, emails, video, digital signage, collaboration tools).
• Campaign Development
Lead communications campaigns for EMEA and coordinate on a worldwide basis, to support major business initiatives, such as change management, transformation projects, employee experience programs, and leadership announcements.
• Content Creation
Produce high-quality content across various internal channels (e. g. , intranet, newsletters, leadership messages, internal events, videos, digital screens).
• Worldwide Communication Coordination
Supervise and coordinate internal communications activities across all regions, working in close collaboration with regional HR leaders and communication contacts through dotted-line reporting.
• Regional Alignment & Empowerment
Provide guidance, frameworks, and toolkits to regional communication teams and HR partners to enable effective local execution of global messages.
Channel and Target Management
• Channel Management & Optimization
Manage and evolve global internal communication channels to ensure they are modern, accessible, and effective in reaching diverse employee targets.
• Employee Engagement & Messaging
Design and deliver engaging communications that inspire, inform, and align employees—fostering a sense of purpose and connection to the business.
Supervise Internal Comm Effectiveness
• Measurement & Improvement
Establish metrics to evaluate communication effectiveness and employee engagement, using insights to continuously improve messaging and channels.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education ( School/ Specialization) Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business, or General Management.
Language Fluent in Italian and English
Experience/ Skills
• 8+ years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, or corporate communications.
• Proven ability to translate complex topics into compelling, clear, and concise content.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience supporting internal change and transformation initiatives.
• Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms (e. g. , Share Point, Microsoft Teams, intranet systems).
• Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
OTHER INFORMATION & SPECIFIC SKILLS
• Experience in a matrixed, global organization.
• Knowledge of employee experience, culture-building, and engagement strategies.
• Ability to coach leaders on effective internal communication practices.
