In Italy we are present with more than 700 people and 5 production sites. With our main local brands FIP, REDI, ASTORE, ISEA and LARETER, we make products for the building, infrastructure, industry, and agriculture sectors.
We offer a role as HSE & Process Engineer, who will report to the Manufacturing Director of the plant, and will be based in our site in Fiesso Umbertiano (RO). The candidate will be in charge of promoting, supporting and coordinating the implementation of the HSE system inside the plant and in Italy, according to Aliaxis guidelines, with an evolution in support to more process-related projects and activities.
Key Responsibilities
HSE
• Support the development and implementation of Health, Safety and Environment procedures.
• Plan, monitor and manage deadlines and appointments regarding health surveillance activities.
• Organize and manage timetables related to compulsory trainings together with training suppliers and third-parties.
• Drafting and evaluation of DUVRI/POS and contractors and suppliers qualification.
• In collaboration with the Human Resources department, support the performance of safety inductions for new hirings and the provision of HSE information at plant level.
• Manage inventory and procurement of personal protection equipment.
• Lead HSE audit and periodic inspections ( Gemba) ed monitor the HSE supervision at plant level.
• Promote the execution of meetings with plant workforce about safety and environment aspects ( Safety performance, Toolbox, Meeting, ecc. );
• Report to the HSE Manager / RSPP, production manager, etc. potential non-compliances identified in internal work areas or at suppliers and subcontractors, and keep them informed about the main activities and related issues, and proactively identify possible improvements for their execution.
• Contribute to the execution of all emergency tests in compliance with the Company Emergency Plan.
• Manage the reporting of Safety Observation/ Near Miss/ Hazard Identification, and monitor the status of non-conformities and/or corrective actions developed from the emergency tests, audits or potential accidents.
• Ensure that periodic inspections and scheduled maintenances are actually and effectively executed in compliance with company procedures and in accordance with current legislation.
• Monitor periodically the status of means of environmental protection, fire-fighting, medical first aid, of emergency and evacuation of the site.
• Monitor the storage of waste and of hazardous substances and their correct disposal.
• Manage environmental procedures with inspection authorities.
PROCESS
• Support planning, execution and sustainment of Kaizen and Lean manufacturing related events with value stream team(s).
• Support the optimization and efficiency of processes and facility conforming to Standard Operating Procedures (SO Ps) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GM Ps), adapting them to current regulations, in terms of risk prevention and safety, reduction of environmental impact, use of energy sources, and more.
• Support the definition of the technical specifications to achieve and improve production: cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes.
• Conducts analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses.
• Coordinate repair operations for production equipment, training and assisting plant maintenance technicians.
Required Competencies:
• At least 2 years of experience in a safety-related role.
• Experience in a multinational manufacturing context is considered a plus.
• Technical or Engineering background. Mechanical or Management Engineering degrees are preferred.
• Knowledge of UNI ISO 45001, 14001, Dlgs 81/2008 norms and integrated management systems.
• Knowledge of Lean Principles, Six Sigma are a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office is needed.
• Good knowledge of English language is necessary.
• Strong project management skills, and knowing how to expose them, are needed.
• Good communication skills are fundamental to be able to effectively communicate both towards production workforce and upper management.
• Proactive, dynamic and problem-solving oriented approach.
• Good ability to manage multiple and different activities is an important soft skill for this role and its evolution.
