Our Editron business unit is leading the electrification revolution, specializing in hybrid and electric powertrain systems for the off-highway, on-highway and marine markets.
We are currently looking for a Global Portfolio Manager to drive the success of our global Inverter portfolio.
The role would ideally be located in Finland ( Lappeenranta or Helsinki) or Germany ( Hamburg), but for the successful candidate we would consider other European locations where Danfoss has a footprint. This role will require some travel to meet with our customers (up to 25%), although most of meetings are held virtually.
What You’ll Be Doing
As the Global Portfolio Manager - Inverters, you will be responsible for:
Product Portfolio Strategy
• Leads strategy and roadmap for Inverters and related Software portfolio, based on market trends, voice of the customer, competitive analysis, and market and customer segmentation.
• Contributes to business strategy definition and translates it into the product/system/service/solution portfolio strategy.
Market Understanding
• Acts as the voice of the customer and market, translating technical needs into clear product requirements and specifications.
• Conducts in-depth market research to identify opportunities, assess competitive landscape, understand application requirements, develop compelling value proposition and position products for success.
• Acts as a thought leader towards OEM customers, staying ahead of technology trends, regulatory changes and industry standards.
Managing the Portfolio
• Owns the end-to-end success of portfolio, technical and market specification, as well as product lifecycle, from the concept through launch to the end-of-life.
• Defines and tracks product performance metrics, defines product maintenance actions and implements improvements along the value chain.
• Oversees localization, footprint, make vs. buy, and business model strategy to maximize availability, customer service levels, profitability and growth.
New Product Development
• Prioritizes and defines new product/system/service/solution plans, sets technical, price, cost and capex targets.
• Leads/coordinates cross-functional teams, owns and approves defined development process milestones.
Portfolio to the Market
• Partners with sales, other portfolio leads, and product marketing to develop go-to-market strategies, product tools, and training materials.
• Defines pricing strategy, monitors global sales target fulfilment and takes action as appropriate.
• Initiates and oversees product marketing strategy, including product launch planning and implementation, to ensure best market coverage.
Leadership and Interface:
• Acts as interface between external market and internal functions such as R&D, product engineering, sales, supply chain and operations, to drive end-to-end product performance and deliver market-leading products on time and budget.
• Sets targets and monitors product/system/service/solution costs, providing inputs to operations and other functions to maximize competitiveness and profitability.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you have:
• Detailed background within the electrification industry, including with demonstrable experience in product management, coupled with excellent product management functional knowhow.
• Understanding of power electronics (inverter and/or motor drives) in electrical drivetrain solutions, ideally in off-highway, marine or on-highway propulsion or work function applications.
• Strategic acumen: ability to anticipate future trends and define strategy in a complex multi-variable environment.
• Independent, self-starter with validated ability to succeed in dynamic environments and with evolving technology and market requirements.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, analytical, project and time management skills, with excellent verbal and written English skills a must.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a cross-functional environment without direct managerial control.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or similar.
• Advantageous would be an understanding of the competitive landscape of off- and on-highway electrification market, related EV/HEV powertrain systems, inverter topologies, control and related technology, automotive industry standards, compliance, or power electronics key components and supply chain.
