Role
The General Manager will be responsible for defining and implementing the long‑term strategy and vision of the Italian branch, ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, and market expansion.
Reporting directly to the international group leadership, the role will lead the Italian team with full P L responsibility, promote a strong corporate culture, and ensure alignment with the group’s objectives and values.
The ideal candidate is a transformational leader who can balance strategic direction and hands‑on operational management, while nurturing key client and stakeholder relationships as a trusted partner to the professional communities they serve.
Main tasks:
• Lead the Italian team with full accountability for business performance and team development;
• Define and execute the strategy for growth and market penetration, with a focus on expanding the customer base in professional communities
• Oversee daily operations and ensure alignment with corporate standards, governance, and compliance;
• Manage and mentor the leadership team, foster talent retention and development, and build a sustainable organizational culture;
• Strengthen the company’s presence and reputation in the Italian market through close engagement with clients, partners, and relevant institution;
• Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to identify new opportunities and mitigate risks;
• Coordinate closely with the international parent company to ensure integration, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption.
Key Qualifications
• Proven experience (15+ years) in leadership roles in the business software/ SaaS industry, ideally focused on solutions for specific professional communities;
• Track record of managing P L and delivering business growth in a competitive, B2B/ B2B2C market;
• Strong expertise in operations, sales &marketing, and organizational development;
• Experience working in an international corporate environment and managing cross‑functional teams;
• Background in companies delivering software and services tailored to professions is highly value;
• Entrepreneurial mindset combined with a collaborative, down‑to‑earth approach;
• Fluent in Italian and English;
• University degree required; an MBA or equivalent advanced degree is an advantage.
