The role is within Flight Control Systems (FCS) department which is a part of the Aircraft System Integration area within the Engineering Directorate. The purpose of the role is to coordinate and carry-out System Architecture activities within scope of Flight Control System development.
Areas of responsibility include:
- Provide support to FCS Product System Engineering units with responsibility for authoring or contributing to the following:
• System and subsystems requirements definition and validation
• System and subsystems architectures definition and validation
• System Functional Design definition and validation
- Specification of Technical Requirements driving development of outsourced Flight Control System equipment
- Support technical design reviews
- Technical interface with external suppliers
- Support discussion with certification authorities
- Contribute to the improvement and digitalization of FCS system engineering processes
Education & Experience
• BS or MS Degree in any of the following engineering subjects: Electrical, Electronic, Automation, Control Systems, Aerospace
• Previous Experience (from 2 to 5 years) in Systems Engineering for Complex Systems, in Aeronautic, Space, Railway, Automotive or similar industries
• Fluent in English, Italian language knowledge would be a plus
Essential
• Experience of design, integration and qualification of complex and safety critical systems
• Experience of high integrity communication protocols
• Experience with system testing and troubleshooting on test benches and on the final product
• Knowledge and hands-on experience of the full Systems Engineering life-cycle
• Experience of creating and editing systems documentation, e. g. Requirement Specifications, Interface Control Documents, System/ Sub- System Definition Documents, Test Schedules/ Reports, etc.
• Ability to interface with external suppliers at technical levelÂ
• Proactive approach on project and in dealing with day-by-day tasks
• Good analytical skills
• Experience of planning and managing tasks.
• Ability to interface effectively with multi-functional teams, and with colleagues at all levels.
Desirable
• Experience of design, integration and qualification of flight control systems for aircraft (rotorcraft, UAS, VTOL. . . )
• Experience of avionics interface protocols, e. g. ARINC-429, MIL-STD-1553B
• Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methodologies for requirements management and data analysis, e. g. Matlab, Simulink, IBM Rational DOORS, CM tools
• Working knowledge of Model Based Systems Engineering tools and methodologies for system architecture definition and simulation e. g. Cameo Magic Draw, IBM Rhapsody, Capella or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Systems Engineering standards IEEE-15288, ARP-4754, ARP-4761 or equivalent
• Working knowledge of aerospace standards DO-160, DO-178, DO-254
• INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification or equivalent
