Data & Process Analyst (ESA/ESRIN)

We are looking for a Data & Process Analysts to support our the European Space Agency in achieving their digital transformation and reporting objectives.

The successful candidates will contribute to streamlining reporting processes, enhancing dashboard capabilities, and supporting financial analysis within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

The work is divided into Work Packages, with each package broken down into a number of tasks. These tasks will be performed within the HIF Directorate at ESRIN, Frascati ( Italy), in close coordination with internal stakeholders and business units.

Please note that the successful candidate will be employed by Octagon Professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Work Package 1: Requirements Gathering & Process Analysis



• Collaborate with stakeholders to collect and analyze business needs related to digitalization, reporting, and dashboarding.


• Document detailed process and reporting requirements, including workflows, KP Is, metrics, data sources, and visualization preferences.


• Document "as-is" processes using methodologies such as IDEF0, and conduct gap analysis using tools like Value Stream Mapping and Ishikawa diagrams.


• Ensure alignment with organizational reporting standards and best practices.


Work Package 2: Report Architecture & Development



• Contribute to the definition of report and data architecture, including master data maintenance.


• Build reports and dashboards according to defined requirements and data access rules.


• Design user-friendly, visually impactful dashboards with a focus on financial performance.


• Maintain and enhance deployed reporting solutions as business needs evolve.


• Apply effective data visualization practices to ensure clarity and reliability of reporting outputs.


Work Package 3: Testing & Troubleshooting



• Perform thorough testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data models, reports, and dashboards.


• Identify and troubleshoot data-related issues, reporting them to the appropriate business owners.


Work Package 4: Financial Support Activities



• Support financial aspects of cross-departmental projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.


• Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.


• Deliver financial insights and analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.


Requirements:



• Advanced proficiency in Power BI (mandatory).


• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite, Adobe Acrobat, and collaboration tools like Share Point, Slack, and MS Teams.


• Strong background in data and statistical analysis, data modelling, and dashboard design.


• Experience with report testing, validation, and troubleshooting.


• Full professional fluency in English (written and spoken). Knowledge of the local working language is an asset.


• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.


• High level of discretion, integrity, and attention to detail.


• Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and within deadlines.


• Proactive, flexible, and solution-oriented attitude in a dynamic environment.
