Within the Engineering Area we are looking for a person for one of our Italian offices who will fill the position of Senior Configuration Manager. Following hiring at one of Leonardo's Italian offices, the selected person will be seconded to the Hague office for a period of 30 months.
The person will be responsible for Configuration Management in the context of complex programs for the management of supplies that include software developments.
The Senior Technical Configuration Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Configuration Management (CM) plan, ensuring adherence to CM policies, and regularly updating the plan to reflect project changes. They manage and control changes to configuration items, conduct configuration control board (CCB) meetings, and maintain records of configuration items and their status. Additionally, they conduct regular configuration audits, oversee project documentation, and manage CM tools and databases. They identify and mitigate configuration-related risks, liaise with project stakeholders for effective communication, and provide CM training and support to project staff. Their role ensures compliance with international standards, establishes and maintains configuration baselines, and supports contract management activities by meeting configuration requirements.
The main responsibilities will be the following:
• Create detailed CM processes tailored to the project's needs.
• Oversee the change management process, ensuring that all changes are evaluated, approved, and implemented effectively.
• Ensure minimal disruption to project activities during change implementation.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of configuration items, from identification to retirement.
• Ensure proper documentation and traceability of C Is.
• Establish and maintain configuration baselines at various project stages.
• Ensure that baselines are clearly defined and controlled.
• Conduct formal configuration audits and reviews.
• Ensure discrepancies are identified and addressed promptly.
• Generate and present CM status reports to project stakeholders.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation of all CM activities and decisions.
• Provide training to project team members on CM processes and tools.
• Mentor junior CM staff and help them develop their skills.
• Support contract management activities by ensuring that all configuration requirements specified in the contract are met.
• Collaborate with contract managers to address any configuration-related issues.
Education:
STEM degree required.
Seniority:
Senior, at least 7 years of experience is required.
Technical skills:
knowledge of the Configuration Management discipline applied to both software development and the management of complex supplies is required; the ability to use PLM and SCM tools is required; familiarity with the MS Office suite is required.
