Within the GCAP Joint Venture, in the GCAP Technical Leadership UO, we are looking for a IT Portfolio Senior Manager for GCAP HQ in Reading (UK).
The IT Portfolio Senior Manager is responsible for delivering IT portfolio outcomes supporting the objectives of the Joint Venture, by overseeing a team responsible for managing the IT portfolio across new demand within value streams, in-flight initiatives and IT projects. This role requires effective prioritisation, risk management, collaboration, and leadership capabilities to maintain IT portfolio performance within the Joint Venture. This role reports into the Head of Digital Information Business Management.
Key Capability Accountabilities and Objectives
• Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to align on priorities and manage the overall IT portfolio across the enterprise.
• Define and manage the IT portfolio strategy and roadmap, ensuring that all IT initiatives support the overall business objectives and priorities.
• Coordinate business planning activities across the DI function between senior stakeholders and relevant JV functions, such as finance, project management, commercial and supply chain, ensuring that value, IT investment and spend are accounted for.
• Coordinate and optimise the allocation of IT resources across the portfolio and collaborate with the IT Asset Manager to maximise the efficiency of hardware and software assets.
• Supervise the IT portfolio and project managers to ensure successful project delivery, adhering to budget and timeline constraints.
• Conduct regular reviews of the IT portfolio to assess performance, identify risks and to reallocated resources as needed.
• Oversee the IT portfolio budget, forecasts and benefits realisation.
• Partner with the Technology Business Performance Senior Manager and Head of DI Business Management to track and report on the financial performance and return on investment of IT initiatives.
• Establish and enforce portfolio governance frameworks and act as a trusted advisor to steering committees.
• Ensure compliance with financial, risk and change management policies.
• Act as the main point of contact for the management of progress, risks and dependencies across value streams, digital projects and initiatives.
• Collaborate with architecture team to assist in the development of a vision and strategy for the product and content lifecycle application and integration portfolio.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying new IT solutions that satisfy stakeholder needs -continually exploring and assessing value-add options.
• Champion agile principles in new product development to drive innovation, efficiency and increased ROI.

• Establish, own, and evolve the IT portfolio strategy and roadmap for the DI Function.
• Effectively manage and optimise the organisation's IT investments to support its overall business objectives.
• Manage IT portfolios, mitigate risks and optimise resource allocation.
Seniority:
Senior (5-10 anni).
Essential Skills and Experience:
• At least 5 years’ experience of portfolio and/or business technology management experience.
• Proven track record managing large, complex portfolios across multiple business units or geographies.
• IT Systems Management knowledge, and understanding of the asset and process management practices, requirements and support services.
• Experience in risk management is preferred.
• Experience managing in a matrix environment is preferred.
• Technical experience in management of accounting and in computer applications systems is preferred.
• Good command of the English language, including setting tasks and instructions, providing feedback, creating reports, documents, and other written materials.
Desiderable Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s and master’s degree in computer science, business, project management or a related field
• Portfolio Management Professional ( PfMP)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2
• Knowledgeable in the practical application of Agile methodologies and frameworks (e. g. , Scrum), with demonstrable experience of upskilling teams in Agile.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of IT architecture and key technology components, e. g. , servers, networks.
• Strong organisational skills with an ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and schedules.
• Proven managerial experience with a track record of successfully developing small, international teams.
• Evidenced ability to develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with senior business and Digital Information stakeholders.
• Ability to identify the critical path and any issues and manage them effectively to resolution.
Language Skills: English C1.
