About the Role:
The training coordinator will work directly with safety, HR, and the OHC leadership team to provide a dedicated focus on training. The training coordinator will prepare and execute training and qualification plans for lineman, troubleshooters, equipment operators, and service crews and ensure all employees receive all required training. The training coordinator will provide or assign a trainer for job specific training on specifications, construction of KUB’s electric facilities, operating KUB vehicles and equipment and/or follow up training as directed from post incident or Safety events. Coordinator will also provide a means for individual or small group training when requested. The coordinator will work directly with engineering, operations, safety, transportation, and other groups to prepare training plans and coordinate appropriate training personal. As needed, the training coordinator may attend off-campus training and conferences on behalf of KUB. The coordinator will also be responsible for the lineworker apprenticeship program.
Physical Requirements:
Works primarily in an office setting, but field visits and field activities may be required. These field visits may include: emergency response activities and support beyond normal business hours, heavy lifting or strenuous work and mobility over rough terrain. Requires bending, stooping, lifting, and working in awkward and strenuous positions at times. Occasionally requires above normal mental and visual alertness. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary / or exceed those demands described above.
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong PC skills including MS Office Professional
Knowledge and / or experience with electrical infrastructures such as substations, transformers, meters, electric test facilities, switches, circuit breakers, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner
Three years’ experience in electrical training field
Have and maintain a valid driver’s license
Preferred Requirements:
Five years’ experience in electrical training field
Experience in utility operations (i. e. hazards and mitigations associated overhead construction)
Prior experience leading or supervising
Advanced skills in the specific area of Electricity
Working knowledge of KUB’s Electric System as well as KUB’s policies and procedures
