ARIANET company, the Airdivision in Italy, develops, designs, installs, and manages cutting-edgesolutions related to air quality management: diagnostics, real-time monitoring,forecast, and scenario studies, for a proven customer base of industries, publicand para-public entities.
To provide the bestenvironmental solutions for our customers, we are strengthening our appliedmodeling team which carries out studies and develops simulation systems in industrialand urban areas.
In this context, we arelooking for an: Air quality modelerWHAT YOU WILL BE DOING Your missions You will join the ARIANET division, and you will deal with atmospheric modeling systems at different scales (regional, urban, local), based on prognostic meteorological models and 3D air quality models ( Lagrangian or chemical-transport Eulerian ones), developed by ARIANET in collaboration with its national and international partners.
You will contribute to the configuration of air quality operational simulation systems and their installation in the cloud or on-site, instructing the customer on their use, monitoring their daily behavior, and providing assistance both remotely and in person.
You will also contribute to the execution of environmental impact and scenario studies to support planning, organizing the data necessary to carry them out, critically analyzing the results obtained, and drafting the final documentation.
Depending on your skills, you will gradually participate in the development of new features of models and systems, updating the accompanying technical documentation.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Your profile You are the one if you:· have a master's degree in physics, engineering, environmental sciences, or related disciplines. · Possess basic knowledge of atmospheric physics and/or meteorology, acquired through university courses or documented post-graduate experience. · Have experience with high performance computing usage and applications. · Have experience in Python development.
Following proven expertise is a strong plus· have a strong motivation and interest in actively working in the environmental field, and in operational modelling systems. · Have good knowledge of the English language and good writing skills. · Have good analytical and communication skills. · Can work independently while coordinating as a team.
Additional desired skills are if you:· have experience with containerization technology such as Docker or Singularity. · Have experience in working in cloud or hybrid environments. · Are familiar with git workflows. · Are familiar with scientific programming languages ( FORTRAN, C++).
