The Digital Industry (DI) Center, one of the Centers of the Bruno Kessler Foundation, focuses its research on digital technologies for the manufacturing industry by creating applications for critical systems, adaptive and autonomous systems, advanced perception, diagnostics and prediction systems. The research in the DI Centre also involves fields related to digital agriculture, cultural heritage and geomatics.
The 3DOM research unit of the Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) deals with 3D metrology, 3D reconstruction and geospatial research activities, developing innovative processing methodologies in the field of photogrammetry, geomatics and robotics. More information about the 3DOM unit is available at .

Job Description
3DOM is looking for a skilled and experienced researcher with advanced knowledge and verified capabilities in geospatial data processing with machine and deep learning methods. The work will include the development of new solutions to create large-scale 3D data (point clouds, orthoimages, etc. ), semantically enrich them and generate digital twins. The successful candidate will conduct interdisciplinary research being partially involved in European projects but also in internal research topics dealing with airborne, drone and terrestrial 3D data. The candidate is also expected to perform explorative and scientific engineering tasks on geospatial data, including software development, as well as supervise young researchers in the team.
Job requirements
The ideal candidate should have: PhD in Geomatics, Computer Science or Engineering; Proved experience in object detection, semantic segmentation / classification and city modeling Experience in research institutes, academic groups or R&D-oriented companies; Knowledge in 3D data analytics with machine/deep learning methods; Skills in programming and developing, including environments for machine learning applications; Scientific publications in international conferences and journals; Autonomy in developing research and organizing work activities Ability to work in a collaborative environment, with a strong commitment to achieve assigned objectives; Oral and written proficiency in English; Good communication and relational skills;
Furthermore, the following elements will be positively evaluated: Knowledge in 3D geometry, graphics and mathematics; Participation in EU projects and international activities;

Type of contract: fixed-term contract
Working hours: Full time (38 h per week)
Start date: September 2025
Duration: 24 months with the possibility of extending the contract depending on funding
Workplace: Povo, Trento
Gross annual salary: about € 44. 000, plus objectives achievements bonus
